Aim: The study was carried out in order to examine the internet addiction level of the first year high school students before and after the education..
Method: The research was conducted semi-experimentally between January and February 2015 for the first year high school students who have studied in a province. Questionnaire and internet addiction scale were used for the data collection. The data were evaluated in computer based way.
Findings: The difference between the average of Internet addiction before and after the education is statistically significant (p<0,05) and the average of Internet addiction before the education (x=50,600) has been significantly found higher than the average of Internet addiction after the education (x=47,935). The difference between the mean of internet addiction and the factors of the communication of the family members, family structure, accommodation environment, place of residence, gender and mother’s occupation was found statistically significant.
Conclusion: It was found that the students whose level of internet addiction analyzed, were at a low risk. It was determined that Internet training made a positive change for the students.
